Outed gay

Outing is the act of disclosing an LGBTQ person's sexual orientation or gender identity without their gay. A childhood friend came out to me as gay when we were 14; I remember his face when I said I wasn't surprised and didn't really care what his sexuality was as long as we were friends. Telling someone else (or others) about a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity without their approval is also called “outing.” In some cases, it’s done without any harmful intent.

But. This out contains information about celebrities who were outed as gay, loosely ranked by fame and popularity. Coming out as gay is a very personal decision, but some famous people were outed by the media, or friends, with out their prior consent. Being outed is a non-consensual act of revealing someone’s LGBTQIA+ identity to others.
