Literally I had a lot of gay acquaintances back in college, maybe hooked up with one or two, very few of them had it as a totally out-of-bounds insult. But when some people call something "gay" you can just tell there's homophobia behind it.
Offensive contemporary term for LGBTQ+ people, often used by right-wing people reacting to perceived advancements in LGBTQ+ people's rights. Gay slang expression for people who frequent public toilets looking for sexual encounters. A few weeks ago, my friend got called gay by some dick, he is actually gay, as soon as he told him things got real awkward.
Why do people think calling someone gay is an insult? A good response is "I thought you wanted to keep our relationship a secret for now.". A guy was disgusted to see me hitting on another guy and was like “I hate you gays” And then responded with this “jealous I made the first move?”. How do people not realize that this is basically the same thing as calling someone “gay” as an insult? They’re making fun of someone (particularly men) for displaying any behavior that they deem is “too feminine” for a man.
And, seriously, about the jewel tones………. The guy on the bottom cause he's already got his shit packed.
I would have guessed with that chest hair that you were a Summer more than a Winter or a Spring, but mint does compliment your skin tone. As a stylist, I say good choice. Capital if in a novel of Austen! Someone get him a multi-sided die to roll for Manliness…. Cf your limited understanding of the efficacy of the s American civil rights movement and its players, your wildly misinformed view of 21st century gay rights in the US.
What do you call a gay Ginger? It still amazes me that we have people who still want to drag us back to the caves. SamiSha February 26,pm Gulliver: The best George Takei film was his Trek Wars video—the one where he warns against the threat of Twilight, and convinces Shatner and Carrie Fisher to stop taking potshots at each other.
Not only a brilliant counter-burn, I also just realized the writer is one of my favourite authors. I will endeavor to question before accusing next time. I am financially successful through work! Aw, SNAPbro.
Ah, thank you Lila. I was thinking that today I was much too cranky to be on the internet. But, by the same token, not all who do are perfectly lovely people, and some who are not do indeed ensure their own failure. Just as silly as some conservatives thinking that calling someone a liberal is a put down. Think russet, spruce, pumpkin…. Thanks, folks — interesting discussion and surprisingly few Malletings.
But just so you know, some cisgendered people — not all, but some — can see a cis male with no inclination to emphasize the socially feminine aspects of his appearance and see that he has put on a costume associated with cis female individuals living during the era of Jane Austen, writer of extremely heteronormative sexual fables, and say to ourselves: This is a person doing something manifestly out of character for him.
This was in some ways the perfect post—insightful, funny, snarky, and it included a pet picture! And a mouse? My friend's girlfriend is my friend. Blasting someone like this may leave lifelong trauma. So EPIC…. Very well done, John. Before then I had not followed you, though I have read many of your works. As a borrowed piece it is more than sufficient.
I earned it!
